Exclusions

Can certain opportunities be excluded from the Clozd app?

Yes. Since you may not want feedback on every opportunity, we have provided the ability to exclude opportunities from the Clozd app.

Common reasons for excluding opportunities include:

How do we exclude opportunities?

Clozd gives admins the ability to specify exclusion logic within the Clozd app during the setup process. The logic and conditions can be added to, altered, or removed by navigating to the setup tab in the Clozd app.

What if we need more granular control over exclusions?

We recommend using the Clozd exclusion UI within the setup tab of the Clozd app. This built-in way of excluding opportunities will facilitate setup and improve performance. However, there may be cases where more complex logic is required.

For these cases, Clozd includes two checkbox (true/false) fields for your opportunity objects. Setting one or both of these fields to “checked” (i.e., “true”) will exclude the given opportunity from the Clozd app and/or win-loss feedback process.

Exclude from Clozd
API Name: clozd__Exclude_from_Clozd__c
If this field is “checked” then Clozd will exclude the given opportunity from Clozd’s analysis and dashboards. As a result, reminder emails will not be sent to opportunity owners inviting them to provide feedback about these opportunities.

Exclude from Clozd Opp Reminder Emails
API name: clozd__Exclude_From_Opportunity_Reminder_Emails__c
If this field is “checked” then Clozd will exclude the given opportunity from the email reminder process (opportunity owners will not be invited to provide feedback). However, Clozd will include the opportunity’s details in the general dashboards and analysis (such as win rate calculations).

We recommend that your Salesforce Admin use a Workflow Rule or the Process Builder to automatically update one or both of these fields to “checked” (i.e., “true”) for all opportunities that meet your criteria for exclusion.

Can we inform our users about these exclusions?

Yes. While it is convenient and useful to automatically exclude opportunities from Clozd dashboards and feedback, it can also be confusing to your users and stakeholders. The audience viewing the Clozd dashboards may not know that certain opportunities have been excluded.

To help prevent confusion we have created a way for your Salesforce admin to describe what data is included and/or excluded from the Clozd app. The “Exclusion Description” will appear in the upper left corner of the dashboard under the “What’s included” tooltip.  To create or edit your exclusion description, go to the “Exclusions” section under the “Setup” tab in the Clozd app.

For example, an organization’s custom “Exclusion Description” might read:

We have purposefully excluded any opportunities with an opportunity amount of less than $5,000 USD. All other opportunities are included in our win-loss analysis.
